This soap is our “everything soap”. It is the most difficult soap to produce and it has more essential oils and ingredients than any other soap we produce. We sourced all of the detoxing ingredients (essential oils and dry ingredients) that we could find to produce this soap, and it shows in the end result. This is our most popular soap to many people.
Saponified organic oils of (extra virgin olive, extra virgin coconut, extra virgin sustainable palm), organic essential oils: (rosemary, peppermint, bay laurel, lemon, bergamot, juniper, fennel, cypress and grapefruit), sea salt, Icelandic moss, mint, sea kelp, green tea extract, organic cilantro, wild crafted juniper, rosemary, vitamin C, arctic cloudberry seed oil, and rosemary oil extract
This is our line of premium Scandinavian derived organic bath and body products. They were formulated using mostly sourced Scandinavian ingredients. They were all given product names of Nordic origins. They contain pure therapeutic grade essential oils (most are organic) and natural ingredients like: organic oatmeal, sea kelp, Icelandic moss, juniper, birch, cloudberry seed oil, pine and lingonberry extract. We use extra virgin organic olive oil (EVOOO) as the base oil, along with the extra virgin organic oils of coconut and sustainable palm. We use rosemary oil extract (ROE) as a plant based natural preservative. Many of the products contain botanical ingredients derived from the Nordic regions of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. We make all of our soaps using the cold process method of manufacturing. This insures that the soap creates its own natural glycerin and the essential oils effectiveness is retained (by far the best soap making method). All of our soaps are completely safe to also be used on the face. Many people also use it to wash their hair, and many men use our soaps to shave. We are very proud of this line offering as Mike's grandparents emigrated from Scandinavia; his grandfather from Finland and his grandmother from Sweden. These soaps are packaged in a recycled white chipboard box with a rectangular label attached.
The quality ingredients that go into this product include the following:
Our base oil is used at a very high percentage of the mix. This beautiful oil is from the olive fruit using cold press extraction and decanting methods. Extremely beneficial for the skin, olive oil contains high levels of vitamins A & E, oleic acid and antioxidants. It also makes a great carrier oil for use with any essential oils. Our premium grade organic extra virgin olive oil penetrates deep into the skin, providing needed moisturizing as well as a shield to protect the skin, keeping it smooth, and due to its high level of antioxidants A & E, it can repair skin damage from sun exposure, cigarette smoke and pollutants.
Used in the base mix of oils, coconut oil is derived from the coconut fruit. This vitamin rich oil is used in body care products for its naturally emollient (softening) and lubricating properties. This gentle oil is naturally antiseptic and antioxidant, making it a great ingredient for the skin. Hydrating and soothing make this oil a perfect addition in skin care.
The palm oil that we source for our soaps is “Certified Sustainable Palm Oil” (CSPO). This oil is produced on palm plantations that have been independently audited and found to comply with the globally agreed environmental standards devised by the Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). Palm oil is derived from the pulp of the fruit of the palm tree. It is red in color due to its high beta-carotene content making it high in antioxidants and extremely good to use in skin care products. Palm oil is good to use in soap as it gives hardness to the bar making it last for a longer period of time.
Rosemary Oleoresin, also known as Rosemary oil extract or ROE is an oil soluble, natural extract of the leaves of the rosemary plant used to retard rancidity in natural oils. Its potent antioxidant properties are attributed in large part to carnosic acid, one of its major constituents. ROE is 100% natural and is the most effective natural preservative to be used in the manufacture of cold process soap.
We sourced the best organic essential oils that we could find that possessed the greatest potential for “skin detoxing”. After a great deal of research we compiled the following organic essential oils: (Rosemary, Peppermint, Bay Laurel, Lemon, Bergamot, Juniper, Fennel, Cypress and Grapefruit). Not only do these essential oils provide the detoxing qualities we were looking for, they also blend into a synergistic pleasing scent.
We sourced this salt from Redmond, a company that extracts its salt from an ancient Dead Sea in Utah, a source considered to have more minerals than the Dead Sea in the Middle East. These salts are described to; detox, remineralize, rejuvenate and energize the skin. The Redmond salts helps detox the body through the process of diffusion, while trace minerals from the salt are absorbed thru the skin. A local ND (naturopathic doctor) directed us toward the Redmond salts and we feel that it is a very good addition to our detox soap.
This ingredient is added to boost the mint effectiveness and to add a slight exfoliation effect.
Sea Kelp is blended using its powder form. It is highly beneficial in the skins detoxification by penetrating the skin and drawing out impurities.
Green Tea Extract is derived from the leaves of the “Camellia Sinensis” plant. Green Tea Extract is naturally rich in antioxidants, which has a cell-protecting function as well. It's a strong antioxidant effect that protects the skin from the damaging effect of free radicals. Green Tea Extract is a good anti-inflammatory agent thereby reducing inflammation in the skin, and most importantly having an inhibitory action on collagenase (a collagen-reducing enzyme that breaks down collagen). Since Green Tea Extract helps to inhibit collagenase, the topical use of Green Tea helps to promote the health and quantity of collagen, thereby maintaining a firm and elastic skin. In one clinical study is was shown that the skin had measurably more elastic tissue content after continuous application of a product containing Green Tea Extract.
Icelandic Moss is imported from Iceland and is very beneficial to the skin. It helps heal irritated skin and deeply moisturizes at the cellular level.
Cilantro has a detoxing effect on the skin, but it also has a soothing, cooling effect on the skin, and its astringent effects can help balance oily and acne-prone complexions and brightens dull skin.
Wild harvested from National Parks in California, juniper gives our soaps a very distinctive woodsy scent. This particular Juniper has a rich, resinous scent and a bright fruity edge.
Ground Rosemary is not only good for skin detoxing, it possesses many qualities in the promotion of skin health. Rosemary's antioxidant properties can stimulate the immune system and boost circulation. When blood circulates through your body, it carries with it oxygen and essential nutrients to power cells, including your skin cells. Maintaining skin health on a cellular level will make a huge difference in improving the outward appearance of your skin. Another one of the key health benefits of Rosemary is that it can aid in preventing free radical damage. What does this have to do with trying to get healthier skin? Just like all of the other cells in your body, free radical damage can run rampant amongst skin cells, which can make skin look duller, less toned, and more wrought with wrinkles. However, the antioxidants in Rosemary may be able to counteract some of that damage, thereby encouraging the regeneration of healthy new skin cells that will improve the look and feel of aging skin.
The antioxidant properties of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and its role in collagen synthesis make vitamin C a vital molecule for skin health. Dietary and topical ascorbic acid have beneficial effects on skin cells, and some studies have shown that vitamin C may help prevent and treat ultraviolet (UV)-induced skin damage.
Cloudberries are wild berries that grow all over Finland, but are most abundant in boggy areas around the Arctic Circle. Because of its ability to survive temperatures of -40° F, the Cloudberry is one of the few flowering plants to have spread to the farthest north. Its geographical location, with nights that are significantly colder than the days, enables Cloudberries to produce twice as much vitamin C as oranges. Cloudberry Seed oil contains large amounts of linoleic and alpha-linoleic acid (omega 6 & omega 3), vitamins A and E, and plant sterols. It strengthens skin, prevents aging and due to its antioxidant effects, protects skin from external factors. Moreover, the detoxification properties of Cloudberry Seed oil help to make the skin look brighter and more radiant. The benefits of Cloudberry seed oil have been studied in numerous independent cosmetic labs. It has been proven from investigations in independent labs in Finland to be one of the most effective antioxidants for preventing oxidation of the skins structure.
To keep your bar longer, keep it dry between uses. We recommend that you try one of our soap dishes or buy a dish that drains the bar well. Enjoy your soap and just a bit of information, most of our customers say that our soaps usually last approximately one month per bar.
